Enjoy a New Olreans night out…with a local!
Person – $29
All guests must be ages 21+.
We’ll visit some of the city’s most historic venues, listen to great music, and enjoy drinks in the French Quarter before making our way to Frenchmen Street. So much fun, you won’t even realize how much you’ll be learning about New Orleans along the way!
Learn about the history of jazz in the city that invented it. We’ll see some wonderful Dixieland jazz music in the style of Louis Armstrong himself. We’ll also see where the “dueling pianos” were first invented (along with our most famous nightlife cocktail!), and visit what’s reputed to be the oldest bar in the U.S.A. This tour is designed to introduce you to some of our most enchanting, historic, and FUN places in the city for nightlife and music so you know where to spend the rest of your evenings in this colorful city!
Other things to know…
This is NOT a crazy drunken party tour — you don’t need a tour guide for that! Most people choose to have two drinks during the tour. Drinks are not included with the tour price. One music stop has a one-drink minimum that is not included with the tour price, but that drink does not have to be alcoholic. There will be plenty of opportunities to purchase additional beverages during the tour, but be sure to eat before we begin as no food will be available during the tour.
This is a nighttime walking tour that takes place rain or shine. Some sidewalks are uneven and dimly lit, so please wear comfortable walking shoes and prepare for the weather. At least two people are needed to run this tour (may be booked separately).
Where Do We Meet?
We’ll meet on Orleans Street in front of Arcadian Books, 714 Orleans Street.
- What is the minimum age?
Because the tour will visit bars, everyone in the party must be 21 or older (the legal drinking age in Louisiana).
- Can I bring my baby in a stroller?
Since they will not be allowed into the bars, we unfortunately cannot allow children of any age.
- Are drinks included?
Drinks are not included –– we’ve priced the tour without the inclusion of drinks so that our guests can decide for themselves if they want to share a drink, have their own drink, or not drink at all.
- How long is the tour?
The tour is scheduled for 3 hours (but sometimes due to factors such as walking speed of our guests or weather, the tour may be a little shorter or a little longer).
- What if it’s raining?
Our tours run rain or shine; please bring an umbrella or poncho in order to stay dry during the tour. If the weather is severe enough that it poses a danger, we will call you to explain our decision and discuss alternatives (this is why it’s very important to list a good cell phone number when booking online!). If we cancel a tour because of severe weather, all guests will be given a full refund.
- Is this just a pub crawl?
This is definitely NOT a pub crawl! Instead, think of this as an orientation to the French Quarter nightlife scene. Those showing up already inebriated will be asked to leave the tour with no refund given.
- Is this a good tour for non-drinkers?
Sure! We’ve priced the tour without the inclusion of drinks so that our guests can decide for themselves if they want to share a drink, have their own drink, or not drink at all.
- How much walking will there be?
The walking distance is approximately 1 mile.
- Where does the tour start?
We will meet at 714 Orleans Street just outside of Arcadian Books (across from the Bourbon Orleans Hotel entrance).
- How large are the tour groups?
This tour will max out at 10–12 guests. We pride ourselves on small group sizes so you’ll never be a part of one of those massive tour groups!
- Will we be able to get food at any of the stops?
The tour flows from place to place, so stopping for food will not be possible. We HIGHLY recommend that you have a decent meal before the tour and we will give you great recommendations for afterwards!
